The Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia Abdul-Aziz Ibn Abdullah Al Ash-Sheikh on Wednesday called for donations to be made for “soldiers stationed on the kingdom’s southern border with Yemen”.
“Civil institutions and businessmen have to contribute to support Saudi soldiers stationed at the Yemeni border,” the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported Al Ash-Sheikh saying.
He went on to describe the soldiers’ mission as a “holy task”.
Saudi businessman Abdullah Bin Mahfouz answered the Mufti’s calls by donating one million Saudi riyals ($0.27 million) to soldiers stationed on the Yemeni border.
