Morocco: More than 4,000 observers to oversee elections

Some 4,000 observers from 37 international and local organisations will oversee the Moroccan elections to be held on 7 October.

The Moroccan Organisation for Human Rights, which oversees the special Election Observers Committee, said the 4,000-strong team would ensure the elections are free and fair.  Including supervise the management of polling stations and campaigns as well as the counting of ballots and declaration of results.

The Moroccan Organisation for Human Rights has called for amending the law so as to ensure greater transparency, integrity and credibility in the upcoming legislative elections, and to increase the voters’ confidence in the electoral process.
