Hamas has thanked Kuwait for hosting an international conference about the suffering of Palestinian children under Israeli occupation, Quds Press reported.

“We welcome the announcement of the Kuwaiti foreign minister that Kuwait is hosting an international conference about the suffering of Palestinian children under the violations of the Zionist occupation,” member of Hamas Political Bureau, Izzat Al-Reshiq, said.

He added: “We appreciate the support of the state of Kuwait for the Palestinian people and their just cause, which reflects the sincerity of the Kuwaitis, their Emir and their government.”

On Tuesday, Kuwait’s Deputy Foreign Minister Khalid Al-Jarallah announced that the conference would be held on 12 November.

During the opening speech of the 148th session of the Arab League held on Cairo, Al-Jarallah said: “Kuwait is interested in supporting their brothers in Palestine in order to overcome their suffering.”

The Kuwaiti diplomat condemned “repeated Israeli violations against the holy sites and the Palestinian people”.

He recalled that the UN resolutions 476 and 478 issued in 1980 and resolution 2,334 issued in 2016 oblige Israel, the occupying power, to stop its continuous aggression on Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque, which amount to “flagrant violations of the international resolutions”.
