The Arab League announced yesterday that an Arab ministerial delegation had started contacts with “active international groups” to crystallise a position which would help solve the Israel-Arab conflict, Quds Press reported.
In a press release, the Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League for Palestine and Occupied Arab Territories Said Abu Ali said that these contacts aim to adopt a strategic choice for the solution of the Arab-Israeli conflict based on the Arab Peace Initiative and international resolutions.
He also said: “The last ministerial meeting of the Arab League [held on Thursday] adopted the Palestinian position to find a multilateral mechanism to broker the peace process under the umbrella of the United Nations.”
AbuAli also called for holding an international conference to launch a credible peace process with a clear timeframe based on the international resolutions and the principles of land for peace and the two-state solution.
