The Israeli intelligence agency Mossad has foiled more than 160 assassination attempts against former and current Arab leaders; Kurdish journalist in Israel Mahdi Majeed claimed.
Majeed said he discovered the information in classified intelligence documents, which would be revealed later, without specifying the dates of the assassination attempts or the way they were foiled.
“Without the Israeli Mossad, half of the current Arab leaders would have been buried,” Majeed said on Twitter.
“Today, I have seen intelligence documents that will soon be released to the press and the media. Their summary is that the Mossad has foiled more than 160 assassination attempts on former Arab leaders and a majority of current Arab leaders,” he said.
Majeed published a photograph with Israeli Intelligence Minister, Yizsrael Katz, with the caption: “Look out for exclusive secrets that will be revealed for the first time related to the Arab countries in general and the Gulf in particular.”
Mossad maintains formal ties with a number of Arab intelligence agencies including Jordan, Egypt, Morocco and in recent years some Gulf Arab states.
