Former Lebanese President Michel Sleiman called on Friday for citizens of the country to smoke hashish and adopt a “hash culture”, Almesryoon.com has reported.

“Oh Lebanese, turn to the culture of hash, chanting: our hash is the best,” Suleiman wrote on Twitter. “Lebanon, which exported the alphabets which were the basis of the cultures of nations, will not find solutions for its economy except after exporting hash.”

This prompted an incredulous response from his followers on the social media giant. “We hope that you remained president… Now, we discovered that you were smoking hash… Are you sure you were the president of our republic?” asked one.
