The head of the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran (AEOI) has said that the issue of multiple resolutions against Iran by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will not impede the progress of the country’s nuclear development programme.

Mohammad Eslami made his remarks during a speech on Sunday at an event in the province of Isfahan in central Iran, the official Iranian news agency, IRNA, has reported.

“The issue of the resolution is clearly an unconstructive measure to put maximum pressure on Iran and it will not help the engaged sides to resolve the remaining issues,” IRNA quoted Eslami as saying. “Such pressures will not end.” He added that the IAEA’s decision will be met with a strong response by Iran.

Last Thursday, the IAEA’s Board of Governors issued a resolution calling on Iran to explain to his agency the places where traces of enriched uranium were discovered. The US, Britain, Germany and France issued a joint statement on Friday demanding that Tehran should act upon the IAEA request “without delay”.
