As Brazil’s new President Lula da Silva’s inauguration ceremony was underway, he welcomed and greeted dignitaries from a number of countries but it appeared the First Lady Rosangela Lula da Silva was taking a stand in support of Iranian women’s rights and did not greet the officials from Iran.
Officials have, however, highlighted the first lady was following protocol as it is customary for Iranian officials to only greet women with a nod and not a handshake.
