Settlers erect new outpost on Palestine land in northern West Bank

Extremist Israeli settlers erected a new settlement outpost on Palestinian lands on Saturday in the north of the occupied West Bank, Wafa News Agency reported.

Wafa disclosed that the extremist settlers, backed and protected by the Israeli occupation forces, responded to the calls by Israeli officials to build settlements in the occupied territories.

The new outpost was built on Palestinian lands in the town of Deir Istya, west of the northern West Bank city of Salit.

Mayor of the town Muath Salman told Wafa that dozens of settlers broke into an area north of the town, set up two mobile homes with three livestock sheds and extended water and electricity lines to the site.

Israel’s far-right Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir called on his extremist followers to take over hilltops in the occupied Palestinian territories and build settlements on them.

All settlements are considered illegal under international law.
