Israeli soldiers have blasted the son of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for staying in Miami, Florida, while thousands of reserve soldiers have been called up, the Times newspaper reported.
According to the paper, 32-year-old Yair has been living in Florida since April, doing “non-profit charity work” while some 360,000 reserve soldiers have been called up to serve in the Israeli army abandoning work and obligations around the world.
“Yair is enjoying his life at Miami Beach while I’m on the front lines,” one soldier, a volunteer serving on Israel’s northern front, told the Times.
“It’s us who are leaving our work, our families, our kids, to protect our families back home and the country, not the people who are responsible for this situation,” the soldier added.
“Our brothers, our fathers, sons, are all going to the front line, but Yair is still not here. It does not help build trust in the leadership of the country.”
Israel has been marred in disagreements over the management of its ruthless aggression against the Gaza Strip.
