German police violently break up Gaza solidarity sit-in

German police violently broke up a sit-in by pro-Palestinian protesters at Humboldt University in the capital Berlin decrying the country's backing of the Israeli war on Gaza and calling for a halt in its arms sales to Israel. Pro-Palestinian student groups have staged Gaza solidarity encampments and sit-in protests at campuses across numerous countries, most notably at colleges and universities in the US.
