Gaza doctor: I swear I don't know why I've been detained

Israeli Channel 13 aired footage of Dr Hussam Abu Safiya, head of Gaza's Kamal Adwan Hospital, in shackles in Israeli detention. Abu Safiya appeared exhausted, thinner than when he was detained and as though he had aged. His lawyer and family have said he faced ‘severe mistreatment and torture’ by Israeli occupation forces following his detention on 27 December 2024. There are reports that Abu Safiya may be released as part of this week's prisoner swap between Israel and Hamas.
