Israeli occupation forces have killed an unarmed Palestinian in clashes with civilians near the occupied West Bank city of Jenin. The incident took place when a large Israeli military contingent entered Qabatiya, 6km south of the city centre.
Medical sources said that Ahmed Tazaz’a, 20, was rushed to hospital where he was treated for gunshot wounds to his chest. He was pronounced dead two hours after arrival.
Neighbours of the dead man confirmed that he was not affiliated to any of the Palestinian resistance factions. He had taken to the streets along with other youths when he heard about the Israeli incursion of his neighbourhood.
Activists said that four other people were arrested during the Israeli operation, which involved more than 30 military vehicles. One of those arrested was Rasim Khozaima, aged 58.
Elsewhere in the occupied West Bank, ten other Palestinians were arrested in Jerusalem and Bethlehem, including four children. Two of the minors were named as Ibrahim Abu-Sneena and Anwar Abu-Obaid, both aged 16.
