The Palestinian interior ministry in Gaza has dismissed as “false rumours” the claims that it has made a series of arrests of Fatah members in the territory.
Ministry spokesperson Iyad Al-Bozom said that he is “surprised” by the accusations. He made his comments in response the statements by senior officials within Fatah that the Hamas-led government in the Gaza Strip had arrested a number of the group’s members and interrogated them about their activities.
Al-Bozom told Quds Press that no arrests have taken place in the past few days. He called on Fatah to stop spreading such “rumours”.
