Egypt’s President Abdel Fatah Al-Sisi said yesterday that he is committed to his responsibilities as president, calling on the Egyptian people to preserve the constitution, the parliament, the government and the presidency.

“I know that some are trying to harm security and stability. It is necessary to assure the Egyptian people that our responsibility is to preserve them and this is the responsibility of the state police and armed forces,” Al-Sisi said during a televised address.

He went on to say that he’d rebuilt state institutions, saying Egypt now has a constitution, a parliament, a government and the presidency, and they must be retained.

Sisi warned of those he called “forces of evil” who, according to him, want to harm the state institutions.
