The Israeli occupation has closed the Palestinian village of Hizma, east of Jerusalem, for the seventh day, causing much suffering for its residents, Quds Net reported yesterday.

Large cement blocks were placed at the main northern entrance of the village to stop residents entering or exiting the area.

The Israeli measure came in response to Israeli claims that younger residents of the village had thrown stones at the vehicles of Israeli Jewish settlers passing along nearby roads.

Palestinian sources said that the northern gate of the village connects it with Jerusalem and the West Bank and thousands of Palestinian vehicles pass through it every day.
