Former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh’s party is considering withdrawing from the National Salvation government in Sana’a in response to what they referred to as a “secret agreement” between the United States, Houthi rebels and Saudi Arabia.

The head of Monitoring and Information in Saleh’s office, Ali El-Shabani, said his party is what he said was

The agreement provides for the appointment of the leader of the Justice and Building Party, Mohammed Abulahoum, as vice-president and to transfer the powers of President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi to him.

El-Shabani told Misr Al-Arabia news channel that under the terms of the agreement, the Houthi rebels will form half the government which will be headed by former Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Saidi.

He stressed that the agreement was concluded between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia under American auspices in the presence of the group’s leader, Mohammed Abdulsalam. The General People’s Congress Party was not invited to the talks despite being an ally of the Houthis, he added.

The Houthis have turned against the partnership agreement and concluded another one with Saudi Arabia, El-Shabani said, adding that Hadi will leave to the US following the implementation of the agreement.
