The Israeli occupation army yesterday announced that it had seized a large cache of weapons in southern Lebanon during a military operation aimed at removing “threats” posed by Hezbollah in the area.

According to Channel 14, the Israeli occupation army found warehouses containing rockets, mortars, explosives and anti-tank missiles.

“During field operations conducted by Brigade 769, mobile rocket launchers were uncovered. These launchers had been used to launch numerous rockets at settlements in the Galilee panhandle region over the past year,” the news report said.

Dozens of mortar shells, rockets and other military equipment were also allegedly confiscated to ensure they could not be reused.

The army stated that its goal is to secure calm in northern Israel by preventing Hezbollah’s weapons from threatening northern settlements.
