The Central Bank of Sudan has resumed operations in Khartoum State, opening a branch in the city of Omdurman, DPA reported.

This initiative aims to assist banks with cash withdrawals and deposits, currency exchange and consumer protection. It marks the bank’s first activity since the outbreak of the war in mid-April 2023.

According to sources cited by Al-Sudani newspaper yesterday, the Central Bank is working to safeguard consumers by strengthening systems and procedures. It added that the Central Bank monitors banks and financial institutions to ensure their compliance with financial consumer protection principles through desk and field inspections.
