Egyptian students apply to Israel's Institute of Technology

Despite Egyptian official denial of all forms of normalization with Israel, Israel’s Institute of Technology (Technion) announced that thousands of Arab students; including 600 Egyptians have applied to join an online course in the field of nanotechnology and micro sensors at the Institute.


Israel’s Maariv newspaper said the course which will begin in March is offered both in Arabic and English languages by Professor Hussam Hayek; a professor of chemical engineering at the Technion and Ben-Gurion University who had invented a nasal cancer detection device.

The newspaper pointed out that the course has attracted significant interest from Arab students; 6,000 Egyptians; 2,000 Kuwaitis; 1,500 from Saudi Arabia as well as a few Syrian students reviewed the Institute’s online course.
