Jerusalemite youths abort settler attempt at Ramadan storming of Al Aqsa

On Monday night, a group of young Jerusalemites managed to abort an attempt by extremist Jewish settlers to storm into Al Aqsa Mosque as worshipers prayed on the eve of the first day of Ramadan.
One of the Al Aqsa Mosque's guards said that late on Monday August 1, 20 settlers from the Kiryat Arba settlement in Hebron attempted to interrupt the night prayers being performed by Palestinian worshipers, and to storm into the mosque through the Al Asbat Gate.

According to the guard, the settlers chanted racist, anti-Palestinian slogans, such as "Death to the Arabs". He added that a brief confrontation took place between the settlers and a group of young Jerusalemites, who quickly blocked the settlers' entry to the mosque. There was hand-pushing from both sides.
The confrontation ended with the arrival of the Israeli police who arrested five young Jerusalemites and took the settlers away.
