Arab League mourns slaughter of 21 Egyptians in Libya

The chief of the Arab League, Nabil al-Arabi, has mourned the slaughter of 21 Egyptian Copts by ISIS forces in Libya, Anadolu news agency reported on Sunday.

“With deep concerns and sadness, the secretary general of the Arab League mourns the victims of the despicable terrorism,” the League said in a brief statement.

The Arab League said it would later issue a detailed statement on the issue.

Meanwhile, Egyptian president Abdul-Fattah Al-Sisi has also mourned the “Egyptian martyrs who were killed that the hands of aggressive terrorism.” He expressed his deep concerns and extended condolences to the Egyptian people and the devastated families.

Al-Sisi called for an urgent meeting for the National Defence Council and announced sevem days of official mourning to be held in the country.
