The head of the National Council for Women of Egypt, Ambassador Mervat Tallawy said the pro-regime media has misled public opinion and interfered in voters’ choice.
Speaking during a seminar to encourage women to participate in politics, Tallawy explained that women have played an important role in the revolutions of January 25 and June 30 and participated in the presidential election and the referendum on the constitution.
Tallawy also explained that the National Council for Women of Egypt has struggled to gain legal supervision over electoral commissions and have the elections process take place in a stable environment.
