A 14-year-old Palestinian boy has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for throwing rocks and Molotov cocktails at illegal Israeli settlement outposts, Ma’an reported today.
Jihad Al-Jaabari’s lawyer, Muhammad Mahmoud, said the Israeli Central Court also fined the teen 5,000 shekel ($1,286) which is to be paid to an Israeli settler.
Al-Jaabari was detained in November. His lawyer said he plans to appeal the decision.
According to prisoners’ rights group Addameer, as of February, there were approximately 450 Palestinian children detained in Israeli jails.
