A Palestinian parliamentarian said yesterday that she has handed over files relating to possible corruption cases to the head of the Fatah parliamentary bloc.
Legislative Council Member Najat Abu Bakr said in a statement that the files accurately document figured and information on possible corruption and she is waiting for the results of the fact finding commission that will be formed to investigate the claims.
Abu Bakr said she will also submit the files to the Anti-Corruption Commission headed by Rafiq Al-Natsheh.
Earlier, Abu Bakr accused a minister, whom she did not name, of financial corruption, which prompted the government to demand she provide evidence to back up her claims. After the Attorney General issued a subpoena against her last week, she started a vigil at the Legislature Council.
She said that she will continue her sit-in until the subpoena has been withdrawn.
