Tunisian Prime Minister Habib Essid hailed residents of the Tunisian border city of Ben Gardane for their support of the Tunisian security in their fight against Daesh, Anadolu reported.

His remarks came during his visit to the city following an “unprecedented” attack last Monday which led to the deaths of a number of security officers and civilians.
During his visit, Essid announced a number of development projects in the city, including a free-trade zone at a 10 km distance from the Libyan border.
According to Reuters, 12 soldiers and seven civilians were killed in an assault authorities described as an attempt by Daesh to carve out terrain in Tunisia.
