Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will visit a number of African countries next summer which will be the first time a senior Israeli official has visited the continent in over 20 years, the prime minister’s office said in a statement on Monday.

According to the statement, Netanyahu met with Ghana’s Foreign Minister Hanna Tetteh in West Jerusalem on Monday.
Netanyahu’s office said: “Netanyahu had discussed with the Ghanaian minister ways to deepen security cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of counterterrorism, as well as cooperation in the economic field.”
“The prime minister stressed that Israel attaches great importance to its relations with Africa,” the statement said, pointing out that most African countries want to consolidate their relations with Israel.
“The prime minister said Israel expects the African countries to change their vote on anti-Israel resolutions in the United Nations,” the statement said.
