The Iraqi Ministry of Migration and Displacement said yesterday that the number of displaced families from the city of Fallujah in the Anbar province has reached 12,250 families since the beginning of the liberation operation on 23 May.
The ministry’ spokesman Sattar Nowruz told the Anadolu Agency: “The number of displaced families from Fallujah has amounted to 12,250 families since the beginning of the liberation operation, most of whom fled to the Amiriyah Al-Fallujah and Khaldiyah [west of the city],” adding that the ministry provided them with aid and tents.
Nowruz added that 700,000 displaced Iraqis have returned to the areas where they lived after they were liberated from Daesh.
He also said that the ministry is coordinating with the relevant authorities in order to restore services and infrastructure to the liberated areas so as to accelerate the return of all the displaced families.
