September 8, 2016 at 2:53 pm

An Egyptian court yesterday accepted an appeal made by members of the satirical band Street Children after they were charged with “incitement to overthrow the regime and spreading false news”, a judicial source said.

Speaking to the Anadolu Agency on condition of anonymity, the source said: “The Cairo Criminal Court decided to accept the appeal submitted by the team’s defence team against their custody for 15 days and release them with precautionary measures.”

Street Children’s lawyer Ramadan Zoghbi told the Anadolu the measures require each of the band members to attend their local police station every night to ensure they do not run away.
