April 7, 2017 at 6:39 pm

Russia has not suspended a military communications channel meant to help US and Russian forces to avoid inadvertent clashes in Syria, despite a US cruise missile strike on a Syrian airbase that has angered Moscow, senior US officials said today.

The senior US military officials, who spoke to Pentagon reporters on condition of anonymity, also said US military operations against Daesh in Syria were unchanged following the cruise missile strike.

Earlier today, the Russian Foreign Ministry said: “The Russian side suspends the memorandum on the Prevention of Incidents and Ensuring the Safety of Aviation Operations during operations in Syria with the United States.”
