Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem has described remarks by the Jordanian government spokesman regarding the defence of Jordan’s borders with Syria as “far from reality”.
“We are not in a confrontation with Jordan, but if its forces entered the Syrian territories without coordination with Damascus, we will consider it a hostile move,” Muallem said, according to the Syrian News Agency.

The official spokesman of the Jordanian government Mohammad Al-Momani announced on Sunday that his country will defend its borders by striking Strike if the need arises.
Al-Momani, who is also minister of state for media affairs, said that Jordan “will continue to maintain its balanced and wise stance towards the Syrian crisis” and added that “the world agrees with this stance”.
“We participate in everything related to the Syrian issue. We support stopping escalations. Our goal is to keep borders stable and safe,” he added.
