Israeli soldiers provoked Jordanian man before killing him

The family of a 57-year-old Jordanian man who was killed by Israeli soldiers in Jerusalem on Saturday said the soldiers had repeatedly provoked him before shooting him.

In an interview with Quds Press, Ayman Al-Skaji said that his uncle Mohammed Al-Skaji had no intentions to confront or attack the Israeli forces however “the repeated provocations by the Israeli soldiers forced him to defend himself”.

He pointed out that his uncle had entered the occupied Palestinian territories with on a tourist visa for the third time, adding that he had no political affiliation and was working as a financial auditor.

Ayman explained that his family in Jordan had not yet received his body and that the Palestinian Authority had summoned his cousins who live in the occupied city of Jerusalem to identify him.

Al-Skaji pointed out that his family will wait until they receive his body to hold a funeral in Amman.

On Saturday, Israeli police killed Jordanian Al-Kassji, who is of Palestinian decent from the occupied West Bank city of Jericho, for allegedly carrying out a stabbing attack in the Old City of Jerusalem.

Al-Skaji is the third Jordanian citizen to be killed by the Israeli occupying forces in the Palestinian territories over the last three years.
