The US President has decided to take his ‘Deal of the Century’ off his immediate agenda, Al-Resalah reported on Friday. Donald Trump apparently did not give an alternative time for the formal announcement of his plan.

According to Israeli website Debka, Trump asked his Special Middle East Envoy, Jason Greenblatt, to pass this news to Middle East officials during the recent White House conference about the Gaza crises. When asked about a new time for the announcement, Greenblatt replied, “Not for a year or two.”

The reason for this, suggested Debka, could be the crisis with North Korea, but Greenblatt said that Trump had decided that now is not the time to discuss the plan. He pointed out, however, that moving the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem will take place on schedule in May.

Debka also claimed that the deal announcement was put off ahead of the visit of Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman to Washington. This means, it added, that the Israel-Palestine issue will not be on the agenda of the US meetings with the heir to the Saudi throne.
