Iran: ‘False Israeli calculations speed up collapse,’ says Revolutionary Guard Corps

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Sunday that, “False Israeli calculations reinforce Palestinian resistance and accelerate [the occupation state’s] collapse.” The IRGC was highly critical of the latest Israeli offensive against the Gaza Strip.

“This new crime carried out by the racist entity and the killer of children… backed by the US and other governments has revealed the savagery of the Zionists and their supporters within and beyond the region,” said the Corps. “However, the Israeli bombardment came as a result of miscalculations about the power of the Palestinian resistance and how it is responding to any aggression against the oppressed Palestinian people.”

This crime, added the IRGC, was carried out in the first days of the Islamic New Year and resulted in dozens of martyrs and wounded. “Israel and its backers will regret this.”

In the same statement, the IRGC was scathing about the Arab countries which have “surrendered to Israeli domination” through the so-called Abraham Accords. “Normalisation with the occupation state,” it added, “has gone ahead even though such crimes are carried out against the oppressed Palestinians by the entity which occupies Jerusalem.”

In conclusion the Corps said, “All the Muslim nations, including the great Iranian people, support the strategy of liberating Jerusalem and building a Palestinian state for all the Palestinians.” It stressed its support for the legitimate Palestinian resistance.
