Israeli authorities yesterday demolished structures owned by more than 20 Palestinian families of Al-Jahalin Bedouin community in eastern Jerusalem, Quds Press reported.
Representative of the Abul-Nour community in the area of Daud Al-Jahalin told Quds Press that a large number of Israeli Special Forces escorted bulldozers and demolished the structures, including homes, under the pretext that they were built without licenses.
He said that verbal clashes between the Palestinians and the Israeli occupation forces erupted over the demolition, but the works continued.
Meanwhile, spokesman of Al-Jahalin community told Quds Press that the Israeli bulldozers demolished wide areas in Al-Za’eem, Khan Al-Ahmar and Wadi Sincil areas.
He said that the Israeli occupation is trying to uproot them from their homes in favour of the Israeli settlement projects. “They plan to deport us, but we will remain here,” he said.
