British low-cost airline EasyJet announced on Wednesday that it will extend a decision to suspend all flights to Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt until 27 May.
“Following the change to the Government’s advice on travel to and from Sharm el-Sheikh in November last year, we suspended all flying between the UK and Sharm el-Sheikh and won’t resume flights until the Government’s advice changes,” the airline said in a statement.
“To help provide some certainty for passengers booked to fly to Sharm el-Sheikh in spring and early summer 2016, we will be cancelling all flights to and from Sharm el-Sheikh until 27 May 2016,” the statement added.
British Airways suspended flights to the Red Sea resort city until 26 March.
Thomson Airways and Thomas Cook have cancelled flights until 23 March, while Monarch Airways has suspended flights until 14 February.
Several European countries have suspended flights bound for Sharm el-Sheikh after a Russian airliner crashed in the desert on 31 October killing all its 217 passengers.
