Nazareth conference to discuss Palestinian citizens and BDS

A conference in Nazareth on Friday will examine issues pertaining to the international Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) campaign and Palestinian citizens of Israel.

The event, taking place under the title ‘Boycotting and the ‘48 Palestinians – Between international influences and local contexts’, will see participation from prominent political figures, community leaders, legal experts, academics and activists.

Among those scheduled to address the conference are former Member of Knesset Mohammad Barakeh, currently the head of the High Follow-Up Committee for Arab Affairs, human rights lawyer Sawsan Zaher, and Omar Barghouti from the BDS National Committee (BNC).

Panel discussions will look at topics such as normalisation and BDS, the role of the Israeli academy in oppression, the anti-boycott law, cultural relations and state funding, pinkwashing, and future horizons of the BDS campaign internationally.
