The Palestinian Authority (PA) closed 16 Palestinian NGOs, including charities, across the occupied West Bank over alleged law violations, Quds Press reported.
In a statement, the PA said that the closure of these NGOs is based on law violations, mainly Section 2 of Article 37 which stipulates that any NGO which is not active in its first year after being licenced must be closed down unless the halt of its work is caused by issues which are outside of its control.
In addition, the statement said that this measure comes as part of a series of future measures to be adopted by the General Administration.
