Iraq’s Justice Ministry announced the executions of five convicted terrorists on Monday.
The announcement came after a deadly car bomb attack in the capital Baghdad that killed at more than 200 people.
“The ministry has carried out the death sentence against 37 people convicted of terrorism crimes in the last two months,” the ministry said in a statement, adding that new death sentences would be announced soon.
