Erdogan attends funeral of victims of foiled coup attempt

In a speech, Erdogan said the people had responded to the terrorists and now thousands of the judges and soldiers who took part in the unrest have been arrested. He stressed that all those who took part in the attempted coup would be put on trial.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan yesterday attended the funeral service for a number of victims of Friday night’s foiled military coup.

In a speech, Erdogan said the people had responded to the terrorists and now thousands of the judges and soldiers who took part in the unrest have been arrested. He stressed that all those who took part in the attempted coup would be put on trial.

Erdogan said the Turkish Ministry of Justice has contacted the US to extradite Abdullah Gulen and all those involved in the coup attempt which killed at least 265 people.
