Israeli bulldozers enter Gaza Strip twice

April 6, 2017 at 7:43 pm

Israeli military bulldozers entered the northern part of the besieged Gaza Strip for the second time today, following a similar incursion into the lands of Beit Lahiya earlier in the day.

Witnesses told Ma’an that four Israeli military bulldozers launched a limited incursion into the northern lands of Beit Hanoun, and levelled the area around noon.

Earlier in the day, witnesses had told Ma’an that seven Israeli bulldozers entered dozens of metres into Beit Lahiya from the Israeli Zikim military site along the border with the besieged Gaza Strip.

Witnesses added that Israeli drones were also flying above the area at the time.

Israeli military incursions inside the besieged Gaza Strip and near the “buffer zone” have long been a near-daily occurrence.

Palestinians who work near the “buffer zone” often come under fire from Israeli military forces.

The practice has in effect destroyed much of the agricultural and fishing sector of the blockaded coastal enclave.
