Hamas’s Ministry of Health has said it holds the international community responsible for the escalating Israeli crimes against the Palestinian health sector, including its recent attack against the Al-Ahli hospital in Hebron in the southern West Bank.
A spokesman for the ministry in the Gaza Strip, Dr Ashraf Al-Qudra, said the Israeli attack against the Al-Ahli hospital on Thursday morning and the assassination of one of its patients is a crime.
Is this the Third Intifada?
Rising tensions in the Occupied Territories have led to dozens of deaths and hundreds of clashes.
Are we witnessing the Third Intifada?
Al-Qudra said that the Palestinian Authority should prosecute Israel’s army commanders and soldiers at the International Criminal Court (ICC) for these criminal practices.
“The international community is fully responsible for these crimes and its silence gives legitimacy for Israel to continue its practices,” he added.
Al-Qudra called on the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to take effective measures to protect Palestinian hospitals and medical personnel from repeated Israeli attacks.
Yesterday morning, an Israeli special force assassinated 27-year-old Abdullah Azzam Shalaldeh, from the town of Seir in north Hebron after soldiers broke into the Al-Ahli Hospital where he was being treated for wounds he sustained when fighting the Israelis. The soldiers also kidnapped Shalaldeh’s wounded cousin.
