Palestine is the compass of the Arab countries, says Tunisia’s president

Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi has called for Palestine to remain the compass of the Arab countries, Quds Press reported on Wednesday. The president said that it is the key to safety and security in the region and, indeed, across the world.

Essebsi made his comments during the inauguration of the 33rd meeting of the Arab interior ministers, which started on Wednesday in Tunis. Palestinian Authority representatives from the occupied West Bank are taking part in the meeting, which is expected to last for several days.

The Tunisian leader said that the Arab world must support the rights of the Palestinians, seize the opportunity of the international support for Palestine and agree a timeframe for solving all of the outstanding issues.
