The Palestinian Authority (PA) maintains strong security cooperation with the Israeli intelligence services despite the ongoing intifada, a specialist French website revealed today.
Intelligence Online reported: “There is a very strong cooperation between the Israeli General Servicer – Shabak [Israeli intelligence] and the [PA’s] Protective Services despite the current wave of violence.”
According to the Israeli radio: “Both sides held at least 80 secret meetings during the last year.”
It added that the report claimed that the PA security services undermined at least 58 planned attacks on Israeli targets.
Intelligence Online also said that the PA security services seized large amounts of weapons and explosives owned by Palestinians.
Adding that a number of arrests carried out by the PA’s security services were based on Israeli intelligence information.
