The long-standing British policy on the Palestine-Israel conflict is to reach the goal of creating a two-state solution. With Israel passing a law which essentially legalises settlements in the West Bank just weeks after the UN adopted a resolution calling on Israel to halt settlements, many are starting to argue that hopes for achieving this two-state solution are actively diminishing.

On the 9 February 2017, UK parliamentarians are to debate the motion that Parliament “reaffirms its support” for a two-state solution and acts on UN Security Council Resolution 2334, which would see Israel hit with sanctions for it’s illegal settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
