The leader of Yemen’s Houthi movement, Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi, said on Sunday that half of Israel-linked vessels have had their journeys disrupted by the group’s attacks carried out in solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza.

“Our naval operations have had an impact on the Israeli, US and British economies,” Al-Houthi added in a televised speech broadcast by the group’s Al-Masirah channel. “Israeli-linked navigation through the Red Sea was almost paralysed.”

According to the Houthi leader, the US and Britain have decided willingly to shoulder the problem with Israel. The US in particular, he said, is accustomed to implicating others. There has been no comment from Israel, the US or the UK on the Houthi claim.

When the US and UK sided with the occupation state and launched retaliatory air strikes against Houthi sites inside Yemen, the movement declared all American and British ships to be military targets.
