You leave for Germany
Hoping not to miss a train that will take you to Germany, you camp out in Vienna train station. Winter is creeping in- it's been below 10C in the evenings. Luckily, Austria's general public are more welcoming than the government and some locals have donated sleeping bags and blankets to those camping out at the train station.
Four days later, you manage to board a train. Trains are being directed from Vienna to Passau in southern Germany and beyond to the north, missing out Salzburg and Munich to take the pressure off the stations there.
