A prisoner swap between Daesh and Syrian fighters took place in the Hargala village, north of Aleppo, yesterday. Eight people who had been detained by both sides were released.
Mahmoud Haj Hassan, leader of the Islamic Brigades of Al-Baz, said the opposition released four Daesh prisoners in return for four prisoners who belong to factions of the armed opposition, pointing out that the exchange process came after negotiations that lasted several months during which walkie-talkies were used for communication, in addition to mediation by local elders.
Haj Hassan explained that the transfer of prisoners happened using motorcycles, as the area is on the front line between the two sides and cannot be entered by cars.
