Jordan has submitted a letter of protest to the Israeli embassy in Amman condemning repeated raids into Al-Aqsa Mosque, Jordanian sources told Quds Press on Tuesday.
Spokesman of the Jordanian Government Mohamed al-Momani said that the Jordanian foreign minister “has been following the violations of the holy sites closely”, noting that his country considers this a “red line”.
Al-Momani said the letter showed that Amman denounces the raids into Al-Aqsa and the attempts to change the historical status of the holy site.
The letter also reiterated the necessity to respect the Jordanian guardianship of the Islamic and Christian holy sites in East Jerusalem.
Jordan called for the Israeli government to stop its incitement, noting that the Israeli government “opposes the efforts being exerted to de-escalate the situation in Al-Aqsa Mosque and the other holy sites”.
Al-Momani stressed that his country is going to continue all diplomatic and legal efforts to stop the violations of the holy sites in East Jerusalem.
