You get rescued and make it to Europe
It is not enough. The boat begins to sink, there is much panic on board. Families with young children struggle to find a way to keep their children safe - some are simply not old enough to swim and there are no life jackets. When the boat capsizes you notice that some passengers do not re-emerge from the water.
After hours in the sea, an Italian boat passes by and offers some assistance. You manage to catch one of the buoys they throw out. Others are not so lucky - bodies are floating in the water. The boat takes you to Europe. Haunted by the images of those bodies and totally exhausted, you have finally made it to safety. You are taken to a reception centre on the small Italian island of Lampedusa.
